Pedro Oller San Jose, Costa Rica
Pedro Oller is our senior partner and head of the corporate practice group where he counsels companies in different sectors and countries. He is also our Lead litigator on matters involving both civil and commercial jurisdiction as well as arbitrations, where he has served as arbitrator and counsel to parties involved in such. Mr. Oller is also experienced in merger and acquisition transactions and corporate reorganizations and governance. He has a law degree from the Universidad de San Jose (1996) and an LL.M. from Duke University (1995). Pedro also underwent special post-graduate studies in banking and securities law through a joint program between Duke University and Universite Libre de Bruixelles. His continuing education includes the Program for Instruction for Lawyers and the Negotiation Workshop at Harvard Law School (1997), the Bootcamp for Lawyers at Silicon Valley (Garage.com, 2000), the Finance and Accounting Fundamentals Program at NYU Stern School of Business (2002), and the Leading Professional Service Firms Program at Harvard Business School (2004). Mr. Oller was recognized by Latin Lawyer as one of the 40 top lawyers under the age of 40 for Central America, Panama, and the Caribbean. Pedro is a columnist for the local newspaper La Republica and a contributor to the weekly El Financiero. He is also an active member of the Costa Rican Bar Association, the International Chapter of the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the Institute for Transnational Arbitration. He serves on the board of directors of several enterprises amongst which are: Atlas One Financial, Kani 1901, Sui Generis, and Total-Pet. Mr. Oller is also present on the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Modern Art and Design and on the editorial committee of the National Law Center for international Free-Trade (Phoenix, Arizona). He is married and father to Jimena and Enrique. Es graduado en Derecho de la Universidad de San Jose (1996) y tiene un LL.M. de la Universidad de Duke (1995). Pedro tambien realizo estudios de postgrado especiales en Derecho Bancario y de Valores por medio de un programa conjunto entre la Universidad de Duke y la Universite Libre de Bruixelles. Su educacion posterior incluye el Programa de Instruccion para Abogados y el Taller de Negociacion en la Escuela de Derecho de Harvard (1997), el "Campamento" para Abogados en Silicon Valley (Garage.com, 2000), el Programa de Fundamentos de Contabilidad y Finanzas en la Escuela de Negocios Stern de la NYU (2002) y el Programa para Empresas Lideres de Servicios Profesionales en la Escuela de Negocios de Harvard (2004). El senor Oller fue reconocido por Latin Lawyer como uno de los 40 mejores abogados de menos de 40 anos para Centroamerica, Panama y el Caribe. Pedro es columnista del periodico La Republica y contribuyente del semanario El Financiero. Es tambien miembro activo del Colegio de Abogados de Costa Rica, el Capitulo Internacional de la American Bar Association, la International Bar Association y el Institute for Transnational Arbitration. Es miembro de diferentes Juntas Directivas entre las que destacan: Atlas One Financial, Kani 1901, Sui Generis y Total-Pet. El senor Oller esta tambien presente en la Junta Administrativa y de la Fundacion del Museo de Arte y Diseno Contemporaneo asi como el Comite Editorial del National Law Center for international Free-Trade (Phoenix, Arizona). Esta casado y es padre de Jimena y Enrique.
